Let's Celebrate!

I want to celebrate my new Etsy Store! And I want to celebrate Spring! Those of us in the North East have suffered a long and gray winter. I know I am in need to brighten my life up and I have done just that! I have made some Spring project bags that have added much color to my rainy days. While I wait for some flowers to bloom I would like to share one special bag and one special set of stitch markers as a PRIZE. Did I say Prize? Yes I did; all you need to do is comment on this post and share with me something you are Celebrating! It's like Thanksgiving, only instead of giving thanks we are celebrating those wonderful things in our lives.

There is so much negativity around us these days that I thought it would cheers us ALL up to hear what people are feeling positive about. A real turn about from the media. I will do a random drawing on Sunday, one for each prize.

May I present:
A Sock Project Bag for Spring.
Here is a close up of the extra treat: an emergency stitch marker doubling as a zipper pull.

And a set of stitch markers modelling for you on a set of US1 (2.25) needles.

PS. Don't forget to leave a way for me to contact you, in the case you are the lucky winner :-)

What are we celebrating right now? This week is my son's turn to be the Spotlight Student in Kindergarten. Yesterday he brought in a bunch of photos to show to the class. Today he brought in a knitted toy with some clues and the other kids have to guess it. Finally, later on this week I get to read a book to the class. Anyway, he is always up and ready for school early this week since he is so excited.

I love your sock project bags. The sunflower bag would match the yellow socks I cast on a few days ago ;)

I am celebrating fleece shearing, lambing and kidding season and the arrival of the Spring fiber festivals starting at the end of the month!

Another awesome bag!

I'm celebrating the beautiful weather, and the fact that things are starting to grow in the garden (just rhubarb and garlic so far, but it's a start!).

First I must say that I love the spring look for the bags! What a welcoming site for northeast eyes! What am I celebrating? Well, at the moment, I'm celebrating the fact that I didn't catch the stomach bug that everyone else in my family has caught, at least it hasn't gotten to me yet so I'll celebrate till it does. In other news, I'd love to celebrate some nice weather around here and break out with some grill time!

I'm celebrating several things, actually. Here's three biggies.

1. My father and niece will be spending this coming weekend with me (they live two states away).

2. There is not tons of snow on the ground, and there are crocuses in the yard at the Co-op! I've got to get some for my yard next spring, I think.

3. The motorcycles were out and about in MARCH! Sure, now I'm paying by having to take take them out and sit in freezing temps for 30 minutes every other day, but it was worth it. I already feel more alive and thawed.

One of my sisters just turned 44 on Monday April 6. Ok everyone has a birthday, but the fact that this sister gets to celebrate her birthday is a miracle. In 2000 she was diagnosed with stage 4 Non-Hodgkins. She was 2 months pregnant and 9 months earlier she had given birth to a little girl who passed shortly after birth. The pregnancy at diagnosis was non-viable (per many doctors). She went through 6 months of chemo and given a clean bill. 6 weeks after the clean bill the cancer came back with a vengeance. She was able to find a bone marrow donor because her 6 siblings didn't match. She ran in the Chicago Marathon in 2003 and she adopted a child in 2004. So each year we (my brothers and sisters and parents and I) celebrate her birthday and the day that she got her bone marrow transplant.

We have had 3 glorious days where the temps were 60's to 70's and our family enjoyed the summer like weather getting the yard together. Then sadly we suddenly lost a family member (our golden of 14 years). So in a way we are celebrating life and memories as spring brings forth new life in nature.

After a cold, snowy, Minnesota winter I am celebrating the green shoots of my tulips coming up next to my deck. No flowers for several more weeks but just seeing GREEN is worth celebrating!

I'm celebrating Spring. Here in Alaska it takes a long time and I still have lots of snow, but it's melting fast. YAY! Now comes the muddy mess, then everything will turn green. I wait every year for spring. It's my fav season to cheer me up after a long cold winter. Debbie

Great bags! Everyone needs a bag (or 10) to put various knitting stuff in. Good luck on your Etsy site.

Little Miss S. said...

That's the most springy purse-bag I have ever seen. I really like it...soooo much... And everyone needs 10-20-40 bags to put each project in, so they are easy to grab on the go - and so they are not tangled up in some basket...

I'm celebrating 4 years of being cancer-free, and finished with treatment. Now isn't that something great to celebrate with a cheery spring project bag or beautiful stitch markers?

I love spring and therefore I'm celebrating the beginning of spring. Also, I'm elated I finally finished a sweater this week that took me 10 tries to get going. :-D And last but not least, I can't wait to celebrate Easter by baking a bunny cake!

GHouk said...

That zipper pull-emergency stitch marker idea is a really good one. I'm always losing stitch markers and they tend to roam around in my stuff. I might have to start doing this.

Also wanted to add, Congratulations to Jerseyjessie.

Thanks to Linda for such happy prizes and thanks to everyone for such happy postings. It's wonderful that we can all find nice things to celebrate including good health, life events, and the season.

I am celebrating springcolors: flowers, the first butterfly and purple springsocks going well.

Yesterday I did some dying too: wool for socks with the springpoolpattern converted into tulips and my hair in a bright turkoise.
So glad spring is here... I don't even mind my neighbourly farmers making noise and stink while working the land.

This may sound morbid, but my mother just passed but I am celebrating her life on earth and the fact that she is not suffering any longer. Mom was my best friend and had a strong faith so I know she is with the Lord. Penny Powell.
